A Busy Spring 2013

The London Book Fair is becoming thee global marketplace for the negotiation of rights and the sale and distribution of content across print, audio, TV, film and digital channels.

It is one of our most important annual events, allowing us to network with all of our agents and to present to them, our latest titles and most recent representations.

Our strong presence at this year’s London Book Fair, that took place in April, meant that we were able to showcase and promote numerous publishers and their catalogues at our stand to thousands of professionals who were in attendance at the Fair. It was an absolute pleasure for us to be able to recommend and promote a variety of titles from the publishers we represent, some of which were making their international debut:

Bayard Canada  *   Cape Breton University Press

Health Communications  *   Les Éditions Catherine Thabet

Humanics Publishing   *   Isabelle Quentin Éditeur   *  LB Media Concept

Les Éditions Au Carré     *  Les Éditions Cardinal  *  Les Éditions JCL

Les Éditions Octave   *   Louise Courteau Éditrice

The London Book Fair and The Korean Publishers Association have announced Korea as the market focus for 2014.

After a successful few days at the fair and a wonderful stay in London, we took a detour by Paris where we met with a group of local publishers in order to exhibit some new and exciting North American titles in response to the ever-growing demand.

We actually managed to meet with 36 different publishers and their different departments in 5 days!

Éditions Albin Michel  *  Éditions Les Arènes

Alma Éditeur  *  Eyrolles  *  Éditions Flammarion Jeunesse

Marabout  *  Editions de la Martinière  *  Éditions Casterman

Seuil – Documents, Littérature & Jeunesse *  Éditions J’ai lu

Éditions Métaillié  *  Éditions Buchet-Chastel – Littérature & Écologie

It’s a pleasure for us to be able to engage in person with international publishers on a regular basis and share with them the titles of publishers whom we represent, demonstrating our commitment to the best possible service for the sale of foreign rights.
During our next stopover in Paris we hope to catch up with:

Éditions Grasset & Fasquelle  *  Hachette Pratique  *  Bayard

JC Lattès  *  Fayard  *  Calman-Lévy

New York

Next up on the agenda was a flying visit to New York – we did mention that it was a very busy springtime didn’t we?!

The Book Expo America, is a leading event for North American publishing and the ideal place for content creators and consumers to discover new books/titles. Many of the US publishers whom we represent were exhibiting including:

Adams Media   *   Barron’s Educational   *   Harper Collins Canada

Inner Traditions / Bear & Co   *  Penguin Group Canada    *   Wiley

To reiterate, you can’t beat one-to-one conversations on the latest and greatest that these North American publishers have to offer and so, we enjoyed doing the rounds, catching up with them all at their respective stands taking advantage of this opportunity to present and collect information pertaining to all new titles.
